LACTASE

LACTASE is an enzyme that is responsible for the digestion of lactose – a sugar found in milk and dairy products. In people with lactose intolerance, this enzyme is insufficiently produced or absent. This causes digestive problems after consuming milk and its products. With regard to athletes, lactase supplementation may be helpful for people with lactose intolerance who want to consume dairy products to increase their protein and carbohydrate intake. Thanks to lactase supplementation, the body is able to digest lactose better. This reduces the risk of unpleasant digestive symptoms such as abdominal pain, bloating, diarrhea. Lactase supplementation can be combined with other digestive enzymes. It is often combined with the likes of amylase, lipase and protease to increase the efficiency of digestion and absorption of nutrients.

Dosage: depends on individual needs and health, but it is usually recommended to take lactase before a meal containing lactose.
