GLUCOSE POLYMERS

GLUCOSE POLYMERS are complex carbohydrates consisting of many glucose molecules connected to each other. They occur in nature in various forms, e.g. starch, cellulose or glycogen. Glucose polymers are an important source of energy for the body because they are able to release glucose gradually during digestion. Thanks to this, the body has constant access to energy, which allows you to maintain metabolic balance. They are also used in the production of dietary supplements, including polydextrose, which is an effective source of energy for athletes. Polymers have many applications in the food industry, e.g. as thickeners, emulsifiers or sweeteners. Starch, as one of the most important polymers of glucose, is commonly used in the production of food, such as bread, cookies or breakfast cereals.
