Coenzyme Q10

COENZYME Q10 – or ubiquinone, is a fat-soluble molecule with very high antioxidant activity. It plays a role in the processes leading to the production of energy (ATP), it is a component of the so-called respiratory chain, which is responsible for the transport of protons. Coenzyme Q10 is an essential element of optimal mitochondrial function. Intracorporeal synthesis of coenzyme Q10 depends, among other things, on the availability of specific B vitamins. Its amount increases under the influence of physical exertion and stress. It has a positive effect on the circulatory system, reduces the risk of heart failure and coronary heart disease.

Reduces the amount of LDL oxidized cholesterol in the blood. In sports supplementation, Q10 is used mainly due to energy production. After the age of 35, the amount of Q10 decreases, which is associated with the need for additional supplementation. Q10 most often occurs in the form of monopreparations. It can also be found as an ingredient in some vitamin-mineral preparations and other dietary supplements included in the “health and beauty” category.
