CHOLINE

CHOLINE also known as vitamin B4. It occurs not only in meals of plant origin, but also in foods of animal origin. We will meet it in such sources as yolk, liver, lean meat, yeast (eg soy, sunflower and others). It is a component of sphingomyelin, which serves as an insulator of nerve tissue. Also responsible for the amount of lecithin that is found in each cell of the body. It contributes to the construction of cell membranes and is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of the nervous system. The human body is capable of synthesizing choline using vitamin B12 and amino acids. The amounts produced by this process are often insufficient, so choline must be obtained from food. Choline protects the liver, is responsible for its detoxifying properties.
