GALIC ACID

GALIC ACID – is a chemical compound belonging to phenolic acids. It is a component of tannins and phenolic glycosides. Gallic acid can be found in the juice of some plant species. Chinese tea, knotweed are sources of gallic acid. This substance has strong antioxidant properties, helps to shield the body from the harmful effects of free radicals. It also has anti-inflammatory and antifungal effects. Some studies indicate that galic acid may support the action of insulin. This means that its action can be used as an insulin mimike. This will translate into improved insulin sensitivity as well as lowering blood sugar levels.

Dosage: 1-3 g per day.
