CRYPTOXANTHIN – we can find it in egg yolks, butter, as well as in the peels of fruits and vegetables, including apples, oranges and papayas. Some studies suggest that it may lower the risk of cancer (primarily lung cancer). It serves as provitamin A in the body and has antioxidant properties. Along with other carotenoids, cryptoxanthin is often found in vitamin, vitamin-mineral, nutritional, functional and other preparations (lycopene, beta-carotene, lutein). Chemically, it is a dye that has a strong antioxidant effect.
