ARACHIDIC ACID

ARACHIDONIC ACID (AA) is a fatty acid from the omega-6 family. Naturally present in the human body and plays an important role in pro-inflammatory processes. In the diet of athletes, arachidonic acid can be used in the form of supplements. It is a precursor of eicosanoids, which are bioactive substances that have anti-inflammatory and pro-inflammatory effects.

Research suggests that AA may have a beneficial effect on the body of a training person by stimulating muscle growth and weight gain. However, supplementation with arachidonic acid can also increase inflammation in the body, which may result in a deterioration in regeneration and training performance. In addition, increased dietary intake of arachidonic acid may contribute to an increased risk of heart disease and cardiovascular disease.
